Desperately Seeking Fusion

    Lads and ladies,

    I am working on a crafting guide, that I intend to be free as opposed to a buy my guide thing, and am seeking a comprehensive amount of information on available materials, recipes (including components, sub-components, materials required in x amounts, costs, and the effects of quality in each), as well as refining results. Basically, if it happens in the "Printer" I want to write it up so that new players can learn, and experienced players can refer to it as a quick guide.

    I am seeking your help, as well as asking Red5 for help, in creating this guide. I have looked at the materials already available, and thank you to the folks who have worked on them, but I truly want to make a one stop spot to explain from start to finish what it means to craft in Firefall.

    If not, you might want to learn. That will dump every recipe in the game, with every required and optional subcomponent, as well as what's required to make each of the subcomponents, at every grade, whether or not you have it unlocked.

    We here at Firefall.crafting.guide have hit a small snag. The guy doing the heavy lifting on dumping the crafting data, one of my best friends and, in my opinion, a genius has hit a snag where the add on is being, let's call it difficult, and we are not able to pull the dump for crafting.

    This snag means I am going to ask, for future guide purposes, for a more comprehensive source for installing and managing add ons as Melder does not appear to be able to handle what we need. Does anyone know of a step by step, up to date source for add on creation and installation?

    I'm Sharfe's friend and programmer for this project.
    Normally I'd leave the talking to him and just forum lurk myself but I'll step in to explain a little.

    The problems Sharfe is referring to stems not from managing addons which is Melder's forte but from a lack of information on the basic requirements to get an addon up and running.
    Trying to find a basic guide on putting one together has been rather frustrating as searching for addon development tends to reveal a large list of addons and little on how to make and structure them. As far as I've found either there isn't much said about actual development, it's buried in AddOn releases and usage, or my googlefu is failing me here. What little I have found looks out of date as it references installing AddOns underneat the FireFall installation directory, not the FireFall\AddOns folder in My Documents.

    Is there an actual 'start up' guide to Add On development in FireFall?
    Even the basic Hello World example doesn't explain the simple structure and placement for an AddOn.
    Looking at the Hello World example and how existing AddOns work, I can tell that the subfolder name and main xml and lua file need to match in name.
    That has gotten me far enough in running to play with the console log and Logii .

    At this point, I'm probably far enough along that a basic structuring guide won't greatly help development but could have some snags prevented with such a basic guide.
    Further development specific inquires will probably be placed more appropriately in the AddOns forum.
