    Dear Firefall Fans:

As you know, Firefall started with PvP. We have gone through several iterations, and for some time, pursued the controversial e-Sports route. As many of you know, its not working very well. Our last big attempt was a pure PvP eSports mode, Jetball. While very fun, its a high skill game and doesn't attract many of our players (less than 3% PvP in Firefall).

Also, PvP has suffered as our focus has had to focus on the popular PvE part of our game. People want more content, fewer bugs, and more polish on these world systems. For these reasons, we have made the tough decision to suspend PvP and take the system offline so that we can rethink it and relaunch it. PvP is an important part of our game, and we want to get it right.

So we’re going to regroup, rethink, and deliver the best PvP system we can that can be enjoyed by everyone. We don’t have a timetable for this, but at some near future point we will shut off the PvP aspect of the game, which we feel does not represent Firefall at its best, and relaunch that part of the game when its ready.

Thank you for your understanding. We only want to deliver the best experience that entertains all of our players, and we feel that by taking the time to completely rethink our PvP and re-implement it to the highest standards, we can do much better.

Dont just rethink everything from nothing, remember the first iteration of pvp, then follow the steps of that and why it was fun "for me at least" and what changes made it even more fun, have a stepping stone to launch your self from, the tech and content/ other aspects did not exist at that time, they do exist now, and so dose new options and opportunities, see what advantages you can gain from new combined into the old.

I just think pvp has been forced to evolve, to been redesigned several times way too fast, and at the expense of the fun for efficiency and e-sports.

Good luck and Good speed and i hope it becomes as fun as it was before.

Right decision at this time im guessing, since we cant have it all at once and theres so much hate from the pvp side, towards the pvp.

One question tho, gonna keep something like the pvp zone outside SH? Maybe expand it a bit, and let it live its own life. FFA.

My only hope is that it comes back eventually. With invasion-level rewards.

Bold move Mr. Kern, I also think you guys are making the right choice in doing this. I hope this PvP downtime give your team plenty of room to do what you all determine needs to be done.

    Bravo good sir!

Maybe if it was army vs. army or anything that made it worth while. I respect your honesty about this though and thank you.

I'm pretty sure that the day I build my rig and finally have a decent frame rate to be competitive will be the same day PvP goes down. But like, 12 minutes prior. Anywho, do what you gotta do. Here's hoping it turns out great.

SOON Shit I can't do the TM code on this keyboard.

I think this is the right move.

When I started last October I enjoyed PvP and played over 1,500 of them. Then, over time, it got worse and worse.

When I tried to get back into it recently it was so slow and boring I quit after 3 matches.

Best of luck on the fixes. The movement in this game is one of the highlights... the "feel" of the play is fantastic. It just needs to be translated into proper PvP.

really mixed feelings about this. awesome that we get to see some of the spotlight put on pvp again
but i will miss it (actually was playing it 10 mins ago, although tdm, jetball is my 2nd choice though)

if it expand firefall pvp community. it wil be worth it in the long run

edit: what if we keep 5v5 challenges or pvp in public test build for those who really enjoy taking a break from pve?
